We just shared in the cost of a brand new fence with the neighbor, and they painted their side today, which is fine, except it dripped onto our side which makes the fence look terrible. We went over to stop them from doing it, but we only got them to stop on half the fence. They did nothing to let us know they were painting it and it might drip. They did nothing to remedy the problem. We put paint stripper on the fence and it just smeared the paint into the wood which made it worse! What can I do? Do I have any legal rights? Is it graffiti? Help please! Thank you! What can I do if my neighbor painted their side of a shared fence and it dripped onto my side over the top?
If you like the color than ask them if they had any paint left over to match the color or paint your side.
If you don't...knock on their door again, calmly ask what they plan to do to fix the issue.
Good Luck! :)What can I do if my neighbor painted their side of a shared fence and it dripped onto my side over the top?
The fence belongs to someone. I do not see how it would be considered a 'shared' fence. You could contact your city/county surveyor and have them decide whose the fence belongs to. This is a civil matter. Before you would take it to small claims court, you would need to prove to the judge whose the fence belongs to.
If you just shared the cost of a new fence with your neighbor, wouldn't it be worth painting your side too? I think it would be worth it to keep things peaceful.
Ask what color of paint they are using and paint your side. It is the easiest of all solutions. Your side of the fence will look as nice as their side.*
Forget about it, You better get along with your neighbor in case you need someone to cover your *** in time of trouble.
I would paint my side as well and drop it. Its not worth a feud.
Did it drip on the ground, the grass or concrete? Grass will be simple to fix, just let it grow and cut it. Concrete will be more costly.
What if you paint your side of the fence a different color and it drips on their side?
Property line fences are a cat and dog fight, sometimes. You really need to contact a lawyer regarding this issue. And, I'm not sure what your issue is as I'm not sure what you want?
A matter of paint splatters is something I wouldn't call graffiti. Would a judge call it that? I don't know? Would Judge Judy? She'd certainly run her mouth about it and then probably shut up.
Bottom line is do you have damages? Are they enough to ask for repayment? And, are they enough to make a bad neighbor.
Personally, if it's on the grass, I'd just paint my side of the fence whatever color I decided. If it bleeded over, you'd have every right to say the same thing happened when they painted.

House painter from hell left paint mist on my bike and a couple drips on the leather seat .Ideas?
The paint is not directly noticable because it is similar in color. But I can feel the roughness on the tank etc. And there are a few small drips on the leather seat that are very noticable. Aside from my seething anger and what I'd like to do to the guy, I'd just like to get the paint off if I can.House painter from hell left paint mist on my bike and a couple drips on the leather seat .Ideas?
Be careful...whatever you use may mar the original finish. Paint and metal are not made for each other so conversion coatings are used between them. While durable, a solvent may remove the clear coat or dull it so the result may be worse than the roughness you now feel.House painter from hell left paint mist on my bike and a couple drips on the leather seat .Ideas?
The best way to remove is car stuff. You can try reg car wax - it may remove the paint (esp latex) and it will make protective finish if you buff it with a clean cotton cloth (old undershirt is great). If reg wax doesn't cut it use car ';polishing'; or ';rubbing'; compound to remove paint, then wax.
Rubbing compound will help on the tank. Need further info on type of paint to address leather problem!
Goo-Gone. You can get it from your local hardware store
This happened to a friend of mine...white house paint on her brand new black firebird...she made the painters pay to have her car repainted. They tried removing the house paint first but it dulled the finish on the car.

A famous painting of two girl fairies kissing in a forest with blood dripping from their mouths. know artist?
Hi. I saw this painting in an art store so I assume its a pretty famous piece of art. In the background there was a rainforest setting.. mostly green. I remember the two fairies were greenish as well. If you're familiar with this painting or are an art buff and think you know.. can you please help me out. I think this would be a great b-day present for one of my friends.
I remember seeing other fairy paintings from this same artist. They are not cartoonish.. pretty realistic. Not sure what category this falls under.
In any case, I've searched the internet for hours and have had no luck with this. If you've seen this painting before or know the artist or title of the painting, I would greatly appreciate your help.
Sorry for being so vague.. and thanks in advance. (hopefully)

How to clean an oil painting that something has dripped on?
The painting was done by my dad who died in 1992. I am not sure what the substance soiling the painting is, or when it occured, but probably either during a move across state OR when it sat in storage. If the latter is true, it could possibly have been soiled by a cat (either throwing up, or urinating....it has no smell, though.) Or in either case, something could have simply spilled, causing several dribbles of dried yellowish tinted streaks, and one lightened area about the size of a quarter. The painting is mostly rose colors, so the dribbles do not appear to have been from spilled oil paints.
From a distance, this is something that is not noticed, but once you walk up to the painting, it is clearly seen.
Is there a safe way for me to do this myself? If not, what kind of price range would I be looking at to have it done professionally? I do have an artsy friend who paints....perhaps I could trust it with her care? How to clean an oil painting that something has dripped on?
Use a soft scrub brush and warm water, water won't hurt the oil but just might clean up the mess. and let dry.

Strange yellow drips on painted walls.?
Over the past few years, I have found a number of oily, yellowish drips in all areas of our home. The drips are always on paint. They appear on external and internal walls. The drip can start from behind items or anywhere on the wall. They are high, low and anywhere in between. They range from 6'; to 12';. They never appear in the same area twice and clean up easily. Any ideas?Strange yellow drips on painted walls.?
The material would need to either have an internal source (i.e. behind the wall) or else an external one. It seems it's more likely to have an external source. So I would guess that unless the substance is dripping down onto the wall that it may just be condensation. But you said it's oily. Hmmm, hard to say without more information. Whatever it is I don't see any reason to assume it's paranormal in nature.Strange yellow drips on painted walls.?
The person who has painted used an oil base paint, Your in winter time, house is warm , so it's sweating. Old house?
The answer is,mildew or mold.Clean walls with bleach.Get as much fresh air circulation and sunlight as possible. You may need to consult an expert.Check out mold removal
mold... lol I had the same problem in my house when I first moved in. We have poor ventilation and it's just how you've described it. It's in bathroom and on the doors near bathrooms. Just clean it up like I did, and then paint over it. They have paint that keeps mold from coming back through paint. Home Depot.
I'm not a chemist and probably know less than you do about these things..but I noticed one thing you said...that it's always on the painted part and is oily. Is it an oil based paint? Or, maybe someone cleaned the walls with something that is oil based. Then, maybe the moisture came and was ';repelled'; by the oil. This probably goes against scientific things..just a guess. I'm thinking of those statues that seem to cry etc...and wondering if the same thing might be happening with them..or some of them. Of course..with the statues...even if there's a scientific reason for them ';crying';etc..God could use that for His own purposes. As it's said..';God works in mysterious ways.'; But, I don't think what's happening in your house is a sign of anything more than moisture against oil based paint.
I've seen something similar in my brother's house.
So here's what we found there...
My brother smokes in his home and the nicotine and tar from the cigarette smoke along with the humidity in the home creates a yellowish oily substance on painted walls that resembles drips.
my guess would be something in the paint that was used, perhaps in combination with condensation.
Without being there its hard to tell. Could condensation from pipes be dripping down on the paint?
It sounds like condensation.
It doesn't sound to be anything paranormal. Sounds like it could be some kind of condensation. Good luck though! And at least they are easy to clean up and they aren't BLOOD!! Yikes!!
we get the same problem on our celling when a lot of moister from rain or steam from the shower. is it coming from like no where or does it come from cracks?

Painting Stencils Without bleeding/dripping?
We are painting a room in our house with a stencil. But when we tape the stencil on the wall, the paint drips and bleeds so that when we lift the stencil, it looks horrible. We've used an oil based paint and acrylic.
How do you get the paint not to bleed?Painting Stencils Without bleeding/dripping?
I love to stencil is what i do is i take spray adhesive and LIGHTLY spray it on the back of the stencil then i paint over it and once the paint drys if you put 2 much adhesive on it you can wipe it off. Also if you are using a thin paper stencil you can redo the stencil on a thicker material like cardboard or wood. But if you are use a paint brush to paint it on dab on it with little amounts of paint this and the adhesive will prevent dripping. But if you are spray painting it on use lighter coats and you must watch over spray to prevent over spray just place news paper around the stencil this takes longer but makes it look alot better. u can see this in my ID pic.Painting Stencils Without bleeding/dripping?
You can make your stencil out of draftsman's frisket film. . . . it looks like clear contact paper, but is just tacky enough to adhere without marring the surface! (Get it at an art or drafting store.)
Also, stenciling requires a dry brush application or the use of light layers. A stencil brush is cut so the painting surface is flat and stiff and you don't apply the paint in strokes, but rather you tap it on. That prevents pressure from shoving paint under your stencil.
well if you dont use a lot of paint on the first coat and then let that dry (and do the same thing for the rest of the coats) also when you tape the stencil up-tape the coners first and then once its up and you like it there, tape all the way across each side nice and tight so if it can drip and run on the walls

How do remove candle wax that has dripped onto the canvas of painting i own ?
This will sound stupid, but if it is special to you then you need to put on a pair of gloves, cotton if you have them. Use Qtips to loosen the wax and remove as much as you can with damaging the paint. Using a hair dryer, heat the Qtip (this is after removing the glob of wax with the cool Q), lightly and softly going over the wax until it comes off and it will, be patient. How do remove candle wax that has dripped onto the canvas of painting i own ?
It's really hard to but you can use your fingernail if you have sharp nails or you can use a fork you don't eat with or a toothpick but I think toothpicks are too weak. How do remove candle wax that has dripped onto the canvas of painting i own ?
place kitchen roll over it and iron it.
the heat will melt the wax and the kitchen roll will soak it up.
might leave a slight mark on the canvas, but should be ok.
or leave it to completely dry and pick it off.
brown paper. (like the bag.) and a hot iron should do the trick. place the paper over wax and run over it with the iron. the paper will soak up the softend wax
DO NOT USE AN HOT IRON, it could very easily burn the paint, alter its colour, cause it to crack, it could also do all of the above to the varnish. Not to mention the damage it could do to the ground, i.e. the canvas, paper, or board etc.
I would try the fridge or ice and carefully try and flake off the wax with a finger nail. Failing that a hair dryer and tissue paper used with great care.
Good luck.
Try ironing on brown paper with low heat, this is how you can get it out of clothes but i'm not sure if it'll damage your painting.
very carefully with a brown paper bag and an iron, good luck
I would lay a piece of cloth over the wax and heat with a hair dryer letting the warm wax soak into the cloth.....
grease proof paper over the top of it then a iron on low heat this will take it of i do it myself ps mind low heat let me no how you get on good luck
run and ice cube over it
carefully scrape it off with a toothpick
Pop it in the fridge or freezer and peel it off.
Take a clean absorbent rag, place it over the area the wax has dripped on and with a warm iron slowly iron over the spot. The iron will heat the wax and it will absorb into the rag!
You can iron off wax with greased proof paper but I don't know if it'll work on a painting!
Good luck
place a sheet of brown paper over it or kitchen towel and use a hairdryer as a iron would be too intense and you risk burning the painting gently dab it till you have all the wax
hope it works for you.
gently heat and wipe off by dabbing with clean tissue
Whatever you do dont use an iron or any solvents. The fingernail is the best. Be patient, do it gradually. The wax will not damage oil paint

There is a filter called Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Nature and it has an effect called 'drip' with a bit of fine tuning you should be able to get the look you want. There are other ways of doing this as well.
I thought I had a tutorial on this bookmarked but it's not there (I know they are out there as I have seen them before) just do a search and put in 'drip psp tutorial' or something like that.
Hope this helps =)How do i make paint in Paint shop pro X2 look like its dripping like blood as in the pic link?
you study how to use the software and you do it,
man... you ask something like how do you build a car with tool box.

Latex paint binder dripping down cold walls?
When we bought our house the previous owner had painted the interior (saleability), and when we moved in in June, noticed what I thought was latex dripping down the walls above the fireplace. I was mad, thinking it was cheap paint, etc. It eventually subsided but never disappeared. We repainted the room a couple of weeks ago, a nice bright red that took me about nine coats and two weeks :( to do well enough to call it done. Behr's Ruby Ring - nice color. But buy a couple of extra gallons and save yourself many trips back to Home Depot).
Anyway, it looked nice. Then we get the first cold snap of the season (Calgary -30's)... Lovely. I guess the more coats means more goo to come seeping out of the paint (yellow, slippery to touch, wipes away). I'm pretty sure it's the latex paint binder (acrylic?) or some other ingredient (ethylene glycol?), coming out of the uncured paint on the spots of wall that are less than 10 C ( I can see the wall studs, where the binder is not coming out). I'm seeing red. Really I am. Looks like I'll be repainting in Spring. My question is - anything I can do to avoid this? Shall I reprime? Is it just a matter of painting with enough time to allow the paint to REALLY cure? Will this seeping happen regardless if the wall spots will be cold like this? Oh well, painting lessons learned. Luckily a big mirror is going above the fireplace anyway. Thanks for any advice for the Spring.Latex paint binder dripping down cold walls?
My suggestion is to use an Oil based stain blocking primer to seal everything up and use a better quality paint (behr is given a high rating by consumer digest but in reality is a cheap quality paint, use Sherwin Williams brand and save yourself a couple of extra coats of paint). The oil primer is vital to sealing in the staining problem, latex base simply will not do this. So seal the staining area with an oil based sealing primer and topcoat with a high quality latex paint. Should not have this problem again. There may have been a problem with the tint agent used in the paint, especially given the wide range of temperatures they are facing. Good luck.

This really doesn't sound like a paint problem. I've never heard of latex paint dripping yellow goo, or of such a thing coming out of dried paint. I can't see someone getting so much paint on the wall that it doesn't dry, especially in June in Calgary when it could easily be warm enough for latex paint to dry in less than an hour. If they put that much paint on the wall, it would be dripping all on its own as it was being applied. The paint is dry, or it's not. If you have ';uncured'; spots on the wall, there has to be a moisture problem on the wall, and I'm guessing you have a leak around the chimney. Is it a woodburning fireplace in the chimney? Water mixing with a bit of creosote can be brownish or yellowish and such a stain can be persistent enough to come through several coats of paint if you didn't use a stain blocking primer. If you can see ';shadows'; on the wall where the studs are, you may have no insulation, or again you may have a moisture problem on that wall. I wouldn't put paint or anything else on the wall till you check if there's a leak or some serious condensation happening.

How do i pour paint from the can into the tray without drips on the side of the can?
Use a cooking baster to suck it out of the can, and squirt it into the pan.How do i pour paint from the can into the tray without drips on the side of the can?
You can get a spout to fit your can or
take two pieces of painters tape. Tape one piece along the edge of the can opening, so when you are looking at the top of the can you have a ';D'; shaped opening. Then tape the other from the top corner of the ';D'; along the side of the can, making a ';V'; shaped opening. This spout will greatly reduce the spillage and dripping down the side of the can.How do i pour paint from the can into the tray without drips on the side of the can?
As a 37 year experienced painter.. we never worried much about this..I have seen the plastic sopouts they sell ..and I'm sure they work well...Just another item to clean up lol...We always when we poured paint was first of all..pour it from the back side of the can and not the label side, in case a person runs out..or even when you store the left overs..the front label isn't covered with paint and you have ';wonder paint'; a few months later when your looking for touch up paints...Second..we always have our brush we are fixing to use in this paint handy sitting in our ';work pot'; and we simply pour the paint from the back side and wipe off what little has dripped onto the can and in the lid groove ..and done...Of course we very rarely roll out of a rolling pan..we prefer a 5 gallon bucket with a roller screen in it...
in the benining u need to have the can near the tray and pour slowly and then when u got a hand of it pour faster until u need to stop
3 ways
1) Buy a plastic spout
2) Twist the can
3) Use masking tape down the side and make a masking tape spout
tcw
as you stop pouring it in... twirl the can around as you bring it back up so the extra paint stays in the can and doesnt drip on the outside...
you can buy a snap-on tool that puts a pouring spout on the can, look at Lowe's
Just wipe with a paper towel, deary me!

How can I make paint drips on my pictures?
I'm a very amateur painter/artist and I've just been messing around with paints and pastels and such, trying to find my groove you could say. Well, my style is a little messy, typically very offbeat and unorthodox a bit. I've been wanting to try some pain drips going down the paintings, and I tried doing that with a picture yesterday but I didn't get the desired result. I mostly use acrylics and water colors, and I tried watercolors but I must be doing it wrong. So could anyone give me an idea of how to get a lot of straight even drips? something a little alex pardee-ish is what I'm going for, or rather the way he drips. :D thanksHow can I make paint drips on my pictures?
Watercolor is pretty easy to drip. Just make sure you have a lot of water in the dish. You'll want to press your brush pretty hard against the cake of paint (without damaging the brush) so that it doesn't become too diluted with all the water. Then just dab it all in one place on the paper and let it go. Acrylic is trickier, but you can pretty much use the same technique. If you ever want to get into spray painting, you can make some mighty fine drips but just over-saturating an area and letting it run.How can I make paint drips on my pictures?
you can splat it a little then blow it to a strate line hmm a messy aritist you can do some fun designs with splating and some fun stuff like that make it colorfull like they say some one colorfull is a artist
Set your painting up vertically by hanging it on a wall or putting it on an easel (and put some newspaper or something down underneath it). In a small plastic cup, put a little paint and thin it down with a lot of water (if you're using oil, then obviously you'd use OMS instead). Get close to your painting with the cup and a brush. Load your brush with a lot of the watered-down paint, so that the brush is so full its about to drip off. Put the full brush up to your painting so that the paint drips off at the point where you apply it. You may need to do this several times to get enough of the paint built up in one spot to really start dripping.
Just keep experimenting with paint and you'll find techniques for getting the kinds of results you want. Good luck!

Paint Drips and Runs all over walls? Day old paint. What's the easiest way to get them cleaned up?
So my wife were just trying some samples last night of color on our Dining Room wall when she fell in love with painting it. We didn't have a roller yet, just a brush. I've had some, but not very much experience with it. I have had enough to know that drips and paint runs are bad. She put huge blotches of paint on several different places on the wall and there drips and runs everywhere. It's only about 18hrs old though and I know even down the road we can fix it.
What are your recommendations?Paint Drips and Runs all over walls? Day old paint. What's the easiest way to get them cleaned up?
Don't worry, this problem is no biggie and can be easily fixed. You will have to wait for the paint to completely and thoroughly dry and then sand over the drips and blotches with a sanding block (a sanding block can be purchased or made by wrapping a piece of sand paper around a large palm size piece of wood).
The reason you will have to wait for the paint to dry is that if it is still any where near tacky, your sand paper will gum up due to the friction and make even more of a mess on your wall. If you can make an indent with your fingernail in the paint, it is not dry. I have made that mistake !!
Your wife's ambition is admirable. There are books at the home improvement store which will give you hints on how to paint a room.

Paint dripping technique on canvas?
how do you think this painting was done? the paint dripping ? and also, the picture of the car and car thing looks like color pencil ? was the drawn on it before or after the paint was dripped?

The acrylic (not oil) paint was dripped and then the artist probably used either pastels or oil bars to draw the girl and car on top - that's what gives it the powdery crayon-effect.Paint dripping technique on canvas?
Painted red, and such first. Dark red or whatever drips done over it and then yes, over that is maybe colored pencil for the car and girl.
Paint drips were probably just acrylic paint dripped on and then the board was propped up. Might have use a brush to drag the drips down faster.hair accessories

How do i paint both sides of a two-by-four without one side dripping onto the other?
i have several shaped two-by-fours, both sides of which will be visible after unit assembly. how do i set them up for painting so that the paint from one side doesn't drip onto and ruin the other side? also, is there a way to set them up so i can paint both sides, without having to wait for the first side to dry?How do i paint both sides of a two-by-four without one side dripping onto the other?
If you are painting the 4'; sides, stand them on the 2'; sides and don't be so sloppy with the paint. How do i paint both sides of a two-by-four without one side dripping onto the other?
You could drill a hole in the end ...insert a hook and hang it outside from a porch etc.

I use cheap paint brushes, when I am decorating, is this the reason I get drips on the floor.?
the reason you have drips is because you are not applying the paint to the surface correctly technically it has nothing to do with how much paint you load on to the brush or if you use cheap paint/brushes all are incorrect, you can load a brush with minimal paint and still get drips, oil based paint (gloss/undercoat) is heavier than your water based paint (emulsion) so if its not applied correctly gravity does its job and you get drips and if you do not lay it off (go over) correctly your paint job is liable to get drips. when painting do it in sections know where you are going to start and where you are going to finish don't just slap it on and go with the flow, when painting keep the paint to half the bristles you shouldnt get paint on or near the ferrule (the metal bit which holds the bristles), apply your paint to an area and spread it in long even strokes and the next area do the same, but pull both areas together and so on (lay it off) going over paint in this way will eliminate drips. one thing to bare in mind is do not keep going over an area this will result in a bad finish, and check your paint job every hour or so for drips you can get rid of any you find by using your original brush with a bit of white spirit on it this will allow you to brush out the drip, i would like to add that quality brushes such as purdy.Hamilton or Wooster will give a much better finish and non drip gloss is excellent i prefer to use this on every job i do and you apply it in the same wayI use cheap paint brushes, when I am decorating, is this the reason I get drips on the floor.?
no. A cheap brush will lose it bristles while painting and have to remove before it dries. It will ruin enamal finish because don't want to touch it before drying. Good to buy a brush for the type of painting you are doing. The better ones will last for many jobs where a cheap one will not. It is cheaper in the long run if you going to a lot of painting.I use cheap paint brushes, when I am decorating, is this the reason I get drips on the floor.?
don't load your brush to much i use the same
No; I used the cheapies too so I can throw them away; you are probably just loading too much paint on the brushes. Wipe them really well on the paint can, and you can also cut a slit in a tennis ball or paper plate to catch drips.
There are 3 reasons paint drips: cheaper brushes hold less paint than better brushes (the production of the filament or bristle leads to this), cheaper paint drips more, and overloading a brush. When you dip a brush, dip only about 1 - 2 inches up on the bristle, gently wipe off excess on edge of can. Always make sure you buy good quality paint. And ALWAYS cover the floor, even the best painters occasionally drip. Better to be safe than sorry. Keep a wet rag on hand at all times, just in case. Wipe up the drips immediately.
It's always better to invest in good brushes if you're going to do a lot of painting, but try loading the brush a little lighter and use a drop cloth.
use non-drip paint.
no you get drips cause you load the brush with too much paint
Nope...that's 'cause you load the brush with too much paint.
When using gloss, dip about one to one and a half inches of the bristles into the paint. That's all you need - little and often is the key.
Just as you are clear of the paint, give the end of the brush a small flick.
Your brush will now be PERFECTLY loaded for the next application. You will soon get into doing this as a painting habit.
not really, the reason for drips is the quality of the paint. however if the brushes are cheap they tend to leave hairs on the surface being painted.
Yes, and you need to cover the floors before you start to paint.
probably not but more likely the reason whilst your pulling the hairs out your paint every couple of mins...
Not worth the stress for a couple of quid is it?

House painter from hell left paint mist on my bike and a couple drips on the leather seat .Ideas?
The paint is not directly noticable because it is similar in color. But I can feel the roughness on the tank etc. And there are a few small drips on the leather seat that are very noticable. Aside from my seething anger and what I'd like to do to the guy, I'd just like to get the paint off if I can.House painter from hell left paint mist on my bike and a couple drips on the leather seat .Ideas?
hello, have a painter for 10 years, i have never oversprayed a vehicle yet (luckily), but i have seen it. the best thing out there is clay magic
http://www.clay-magic.com/
i have used it personall on my vehicles. and many cars/trucks when i was an apprentice and they got overspray on them. i doesn hurt paint does take off the wax. and it wil make the painty better looking and slicker than when it was new. can order it through them or around where i live places that sell automotive paint sell it.
get the blue bar. not the red.
as for the leather try suntan lotion, or some leather cleaner it will usually get the leather soft moist etc and the paint will pop off.
i wouldnt use goof on on paint,a nd the can says not to use on painted surfaces. any more questions you can just let me know.House painter from hell left paint mist on my bike and a couple drips on the leather seat .Ideas?
make sure to do it in the shade, not it the sun i works alot better. and keep the clay bar wet. like in water etc. dip it every once in a while.
If you can take a picture of the bike that shows the paint I would do that first. My next step would be to find out if your homeowners insurance will cover having the bike painted. If they will I would give them all of the information you have on the painter and let your insurance company go after him. I really wouldn't try anything until you talk to your homeowners and it sounds to me like if you try anything you will break the clear coat seal and then you open yourself up to a ton of other problems.
If you knew he was going to be painting in that area then why didnt you move the bike Duh ,
I say kick him in the ding-ding.
You may want to try a rubbing compound (test in one small area first). This takes dead paint off, leaving the good paint, and then you would need a good wax job to protect the paint. The tank will feel smooth again. Auto parts stores have the Dupont compound.
The leather seat - if latex paint you may be able to use a scrub brush with very warm water and liquid detergent. If you can compromise the bonding a bit of the paint, it should come off (may need the help of a fingernail to push it off).
If the painter was stupid enough to do this to your bike, he probably does not carry liability insurance nor would he know what it is. I hope it comes off for you.
After thought: Crazy idea: (use caution) You could try a small tip on a soldering iron to be able to put precise heat on the paint dots, the heat will diminish the paints bond (kind of like using a blow torch on painted wood). But as you know it may be a slight trade off - paint dots for slight discoloration of the leather.
try goof-off. it is a latex paint remover. it should take the mist off the bike, with some elbow grease. it will also remove any polish/wax etc, that is on the bike, so you will need to polish is when you are done. any hardware or paint store should have goof off or something like it . there are a couple of brands that do the same thing. Goof Off is sold in a small yellow can, with a red logo.
Good Luck
P.S. dont use it on the leather!!!!! Check with a leather shop for ideas on that
OMGosh, I don't know but I would freak out!! What an idiot!
Goof off is good for the painted surfaces and it will look like new. I would actually try using a good coat of wax first with a little rubbing. Then move to the more abrasive materials like goof off.
Not the first choice but brake fluid will remove everything. maybe even the paint.
As for the seat if it is misted on i think you might be out of luck. Take it to a leather expert. You can get seats recovered by the manufacturer (Corbin/Mustang) for less than a new seat.
i would use a clay bar
seconf thought i would make the guy resposnible take care of it, suggest to him to get a car and bike detailer and to get the clay bar treatment
Have his company pay for a repaint. They're insured for a reason.
If your fingernails are thick enough not to scratch the paint you can also scrape it off gently with them. Hubby said goof off .
hello, have a painter for 10 years, i have never oversprayed a vehicle yet (luckily), but i have seen it. the best thing out there is clay magic
http://www.clay-magic.com/
i have used it personall on my vehicles. and many cars/trucks when i was an apprentice and they got overspray on them. i doesn hurt paint does take off the wax. and it wil make the painty better looking and slicker than when it was new. can order it through them or around where i live places that sell automotive paint sell it.
get the blue bar. not the red.
as for the leather try suntan lotion, or some leather cleaner it will usually get the leather soft moist etc and the paint will pop off.
i wouldnt use goof on on paint,a nd the can says not to use on painted surfaces. any more questions you can just let me know.House painter from hell left paint mist on my bike and a couple drips on the leather seat .Ideas?
make sure to do it in the shade, not it the sun i works alot better. and keep the clay bar wet. like in water etc. dip it every once in a while.

How can i make acrilic paint ';run'; like a dripping effect?
i have some red acrylic paint and i want to make it run like a dripping effect. any ideas on how to accomplish this? How can i make acrilic paint ';run'; like a dripping effect?
Easy - just thin it out to such an extent as you prefer that it runs nice and then tilt the canvas. How can i make acrilic paint ';run'; like a dripping effect?
get your brush really wet in clean water and then dip in the paint and put a dot on your canvas and tilt the canvas vertically and the paint should run down the canvas.
but make sure your brush is really ******* wet and you have clean water, or else the red paint will be brownish
You can thin the paint a bit or really load the brush with a lot of paint then let it drip in the direction you want.

How can I remove dry drips of cement off my car without ruining the paint? Did the car wash but still there?
I assume you mean cement as in the stuff you make mortar and concrete with; not cement the other sort of glue.
Bricklayers remove cement from bricks with hydrochloric acid (spirits of salts) solution.
I wouldn't use that on a car; but vinegar or maybe lemon juice COULD work.
They won't completely dissolve the cement but will start the process of dissolving the outside surface, which hopefully will be enough as one would hope that the vinegar would seep along the edge under the splodge.
TEST it on a sample piece that is well hidden to make sure first. How long will it take? Dunno - trial and error.
Do not use any bottled acids - most would be far too strong and could damage the paint surface. How can I remove dry drips of cement off my car without ruining the paint? Did the car wash but still there?
My shop use to get these every once in a while from cars in underground parking structures...best method is to use Lime-Away....spray it on the drips, let it sit for a few minutes and wipe off...repeat as necessary til it's all gone...you may have to pick at the drip with a fingernail or dull knife. Won't hurt the finish....rewax when done. ';CLR'; product might work too...hardware stores or home centers carry them. How can I remove dry drips of cement off my car without ruining the paint? There's no magical soultion. There's no gurantee. I worked in a body shop for a long time. The easiest way is to take your thumb, put your nail to flat side of the paint and push against the cement. Just bump it off. If that doesn't work or if your vehicle is coated with cement (not just a small splatter here and there) then you have real problems and may have to get the vehicle recleared.

I think rather than water, the artist may have mixed flow releaser into the paint. Flow releaser makes the paint break its surface tension and allows it to run freely like that. See link.

I need some kind or remedy to safely remove brick mortar from my car without damaging my paint job, is there some special chemical remover or homemade remedy like rubbing butter or oil on it?Some mortar dripped on my car and dried nice and hard, how do I remove it without damaging the paint job?

hello, to safely remove the mortar, use a diluted amount of muriatic acid and water to wash the mortar off the vehicle. Follow the directions on the bottle. Muriatic acid can be purchase at a home building supply store or at the local hardware store. Best of luck.

The humidifier in our bedroom creates condensation on the windows which drips and ruins the windowsill paint.?
We need to run a portable humidifier in our bedroom each night (it is so unbearably dry) and the condensation created on the windows drips to the windowsill and ruins the paint. Does anyone know any solutions to this? The humidifier in our bedroom creates condensation on the windows which drips and ruins the windowsill paint.?
1) Use an insulating sheet of plastic. Hardware stores sell kits. You cover the window, then use a hairdryer to shrink the plastic to remove wrinkles.
2) Cover the sills with Saran wrap, aluminum foil, etc.
3) Spray the sills with furniture polish. Even the kind you buy at 99垄 Stores lasts months. The humidifier in our bedroom creates condensation on the windows which drips and ruins the windowsill paint.?
you need insulated windows to cut down on the temerature variation from indoors to outside as this is the cause of condensation. as a quick cheap fix you could try putting plastic over the widow on the inside leaving an air gap of a few inches between the window and the plastic. good luck.
I think you put too much moisture in the air in a short period of time.I live in Alaska where it is very dry in the winter months.I run 2 humidifiers most of the winter.

Best way to paint a ceiling and minimize dripping?
in a hurry and dont have drop cloth, gotta do it todayBest way to paint a ceiling and minimize dripping?
Buy a good name brand paint and remove any excess paint from the roller, before you apply it to the ceiling. I still think you should go to a dollar store an pick up a drop cloth. You know what ';they'; say about an ounce of prevention.Best way to paint a ceiling and minimize dripping?
Use a roller sleeve with 3/8';. It will minimize the amount of painting being splattered as you are rolling. That along with the newspapers should do the job. If you can sacrifice a bed sheet it will also help but you will still need to use paper under it. DO NOT use plastic.
BUY expensive paint, it doesnt drip like cheaper stuff,,,trust me Ive painted dozens of ceilings
Use newspaper on the floor, it will keep the smaller drips up at least. And don't overload the roller with paint, roll it several times on the ';ramp'; of the pan to get off the excess. Trying to roll the paint on very fast will cause ';spray'; so roll with slow deliberate strokes.
Good luck.

Sounds like Jackson Pollock.
Pollock, along with Rothko and DeKonnig were post-war jewish american abstract expressionists whose stuff was bought by the CIA to make a market and raise their profiles to celebrities. This enabled the americans to contrast the celebration of these offbeat jews with the incarceration in the gulags of soviet offbeat jews, especially after that nazi business.
Jackson Pollock painted by dripping and splashing. I'm not sure if he had work at those places, though.
yea its jackson pollack
Jackson Pollack - long dead and very poor in his own time but his work is now going for enormous sums
Usually, he laid the canvas or board down to sort of lay the paint on or throw it down or sprinkle it.
This is clearly Jackson Pollock. An American painting in 50s and 60s. The technique is called 'tachism' or 'action painting'.
I have only seen that style one time in my life and it was my highschool art teacher. he would make a mixture of oil paint and candle wax and do some beautiful abstract stuff. His name was Cecil North. I am sure he is painting with God these days as he was an older gentleman then and I am an older person now.

Do paint roller stop the paint from dripping or splashing?
I wanted to paint the house but dont want to make a mess with the paint.
There are lots of paint rollers advertised on tv that you fill up the paint in the side of the roller and theres no paint dripping on the floor.
Has anyone ever brought one of them roller? if so does it work?
this is an example:

NO. The ONLY way to stop mess %26amp; dripping paint, is to take Care! Oh, %26amp; Don't put much paint on the brush or roller! I always have to put on too much! ,,,, Surely You Don't Believe what you see on telly do you!?? Perhaps I should advertise my pet unicorn for sale on telly? Do you think someone would be silly enough to believe I really have one? Just Take Care, %26amp; use Whatever You feel most comfortable using. I prefer a Large Brush. My wife prefers a tiny brush or a roller %26amp; for the Same Jobs!
No professional painter would use. It will take 3 or 4 times longer to paint a wall. Just imagine the mess everytime you have to refill the roller.
Move valuables out of area and use a drop cloth. That is not too hard to do.
They'll work. The paint has to be the correct consistency.
There are also ';Pads'; that work. Different sizes for large and tight areas.
I still prefer a good brush. I can work in the paint on uneven surfaces.
Consider wood shingles. The overlap.
You don`t get any paint mess from an ordinary texture roller and a lot cheaper too.,unless you put too much paint on the roller

Help!!! I just tried to clean some stains off of my slate floor that I thought were paint drips.?
I tried ';goof Off'; and now I have a large area that discolored. The floor is black slate and the spot is white. What can I do to fix it??? Any suggestions to clean and shine an old slate entry foyer? I am trying to sell my house and I can't afford to spend much more money on the house. Thanks for your suggestions.Help!!! I just tried to clean some stains off of my slate floor that I thought were paint drips.?
Grab some hot water and an old toothbrush, and scrub, scrub, scrub. The white sounds like the paint dissolved and might be able to be scrubbed up. Just keep an eye on the slate as you are cleaning it, slate has a habit of flaking so try and avoid further damage.
Natural surfaces are very difficult to clean, and you should not use anything other than hot water on them. A little dish soap, well rinsed will take up most spots.
Natural slate shouldn't look shinny, and most people looking at a home will admire the natural stone and know that it shouldn't be really shinny.
If you are set on shinning the floor, go to your local hardware or flooring store and buy a product designed for use on slate.Help!!! I just tried to clean some stains off of my slate floor that I thought were paint drips.?
This is very bad.
Slate is a natural stone, like granite and marble. You cannot simply use Goo-Gone on a porous surface like slate.
There are products at Home Depot and Lowe's designed for natural stone. You will have to go there and get natural stone cleaners and then a natural stone sealer.
If you spill paint (latex or oil based) one thing you do NOT want to do is use a solvent on it because it will cause the spot to liquify and spread the stain even wider as you try to wipe it dry. What you really need to do is to sprape the HELLLL out of it until about 90% of it has been removed. You can use a razor blade, X-acto-type razor blade knife with a sharp point or something of that type. Be careful to not leave any gouges or stratches that cannot be hidden later. Then get the vacume cleaner to suck up all the debris. After that you can carefull use a ';Zip-Strip'; type of paint remover. Allow it to soak into the stain and then carefully dry it up with a Q-Tips and don't spread the stain out wider than it already is. After that, you will have to carefully wash it and allow it to dry. If there is discoloration you may have to purchase a special dye or spot concealed designed for stone. I was lucky because after I cleaned a stain off of marble years ago, I used some Kiwi shoe dye on my black marble which seemed to match perfectly. Check at Lowe's, Home Depot or other hardware stores for the dyes and touch up spot consealers, or contact a store who specializes in tile and stone floors or countertops. Be sure to use a good sealer to prevent stains such as this from happening in the future.

How do I remove paint from the baseboards that dripped under the painters tape?
I just painted a room yesterday (indoors) and after removing the painters tape from the baseboards, there are tons of areas where the paint dripped under the tape. I would just paint over it with the white baseboard paint, but it will be all lumpy/bumpy looking. Am I supposed to sand it away or what? This is going to be a lot of work! Why didn't the painters tape work?!!?How do I remove paint from the baseboards that dripped under the painters tape?
Try some stuff called ';Goof-Off'; it should work. As to why, you didn't have the tape pressed into placed good enough.
If the Goof-Off doesn't work then hate to say it but yes get out the sandpaper. Or you may try paint thinner since you would have to repaint anyways. How do I remove paint from the baseboards that dripped under the painters tape?
when you put the tape on press it down really well.... then apply a clear coat to seal any place where paint might seep under the tape. Then paint over the clear coat. When tape is removed.... prior to the paint drying you will have a nice straight edge.
Well it's man made. And why don't you try a paint scraper? But use it gently!
Yes sand it down and then repaint your baseboards. Yes its a lot of work, but if you use a paint thinner, your just gonna have to repaint anyway. Was the tape pressed down very firmly? Were your baseboards clean of dust before you put the tape down? Because, the adhesive won't stick if it was dusty.
mmm that sucks. I just painted my room last week and I got paint on the floor by accident. I used a little rubbing alcohol and it went away. Try using a little paint stripper on it.
IF U USE WATER BASE PAINT IT WILL COME OFF...OIL BASE, YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY A REMOVER, AND IT STINKS...OPEN A WINDOW......
Painter's tape never work! you might have to kinda dig out the paint drips, then if there's divits, use spackle to fill in the holes, and repaint, sorry, nothing is ever easy.
If you are just going to paint over it use paint thinner on a sponge to remove the large clumps and then take some sand paper and just lightly roughen the surface so when painted it will hold the paint. Also you are right painting is alot of work! If work is what you are afraid of you probably should have hired a painter.

How can I make a splatter/spray paint that appears to be dripping/running down effect in Phtoshop?
I'm looking to make text and possibly some picture layers look as if it is wet paint dripping/running.How can I make a splatter/spray paint that appears to be dripping/running down effect in Phtoshop?
Im not positive, but try the ';liquify'; effect, and if all else fails, search for specific tuorials. There are some good ones out there. How can I make a splatter/spray paint that appears to be dripping/running down effect in Phtoshop?
for grapic art layouts, you mite find some pretty usefull programs just for this purpose for design and to creat on your comp that u can buy or that u already have on your comp. some of these programs have airbrush that might come in handy

I dripped red Oil Paint on an off-white sweater. Any ideas of the best way to [try to] get it out?
I have tried paint thinner but am nervous about ruining the fabric. That is about all I have tried for now.I dripped red Oil Paint on an off-white sweater. Any ideas of the best way to [try to] get it out?
You might try ';The Masters Brush Cleaner.'; It is available at most art supply stores or you can get it online from Dick Blick or Utrecht. I have had success getting dried oil paint out of brushes with it. I have never gotten dried oil paint out of fabric before. My sister (also an artist) says that her clothes fall down the 'food chain,' that is, they start out good clothes, then she gets paint on them and they become studio clothes, then finally rags to clean brushes with.I dripped red Oil Paint on an off-white sweater. I would NOT advise putting water on a fabric to get out oil paint. That is just gonna create a huge mess. If it was acrilyic then that would be fine but with Oil you need to use something else. Paint thinner would normally be your best bet. However If I am not mistaken there is a product made specifically for getting oil paint out of fabric. Try going to your local art and crafts store to find a product or to ask one of the sales people they should know.
try hairspray. i know it works for ink i don't know about paint though. this is not a joke.
Red paint on a whitish cloth is a nightmare in terms of trying to get rid of the stain. I'd try to use a brush cleaner cake solution and try to scrub it in with a bristol brush. Try to get it while it's still wet. You don't need to use thinner - just use water.

I accidentally dripped some airbrush paint on my pants- how do I get it out?
It's kind of been on there for a while, too. It's bright red paint on light brown material (my favorite pants!). What do I do for it?I accidentally dripped some airbrush paint on my pants- how do I get it out?
What kind of paint are you using? Than try felts naphta soap, you can buy it in most super markets. Wet it and rub it on pants as much as possible and wash them. This soap worked for me many times got the paint out without destroying the clothing.I accidentally dripped some airbrush paint on my pants- how do I get it out?
There isn't much you can do now that it has dried. If they were your favorite pants you should have washed the paint off while it was wet. Why are you painting in your favorite pants anyway?
Try scratching it off with a razor blade. It will remove some of the material but thats really the best option you have.
Paint the rest of the pants. It's set in, it's probably not coming out.
try to rub small amount of thinner... it will soften the paint.
thinner is use to mix in paint--- it is use to soften the mixture. then wash it with laundry soap.
Chances are you will never get it out. I learned that one long ago, don't wear good clothes while airbrushing, I have paint over alot of my clothes and it just stays there. What type of paint is it?c++

Sanding walls, old paint drips, rough drywall?
I just bought a house, and some of the rooms have rough patches, like the drywall wasn't sanded very good. Also there are some paint drips in some spots, like they put the paint on too thick. Is is okay to sand, and should I use drywall sand paper even though it's painted?
Also, There is a part of the home (hallway) that has textured walls (almost like a popcorn ceiling), but it's the first three feet up the wall. Can that also be sanded down?Sanding walls, old paint drips, rough drywall?
Yes, by all means, you can sand it. You will want to start out with 80 grit and work up to 220. That way you can get the rougher and harder stuff before you smooth it out. As for the rough patches, I know from experience that it could also be from using the wrong size sheetrock. Be very careful in these places. If it is the same size sheetrock, you are fine. Just make sure that you use the same technique that they used for the rest of the way to make sure that it won't stand out.
As for the textured portion, you can sand it down as well. But personally, the best thing to do is determine that it is a popcorn style texture. If it is, then I would use a scraper on it first, that way everything comes off first and then use the 80 and then 220 grit paper.Sanding walls, old paint drips, rough drywall?
The popcorn finish can usually be ';stripped.'; Go to the hardware store and tell them you need the tool for stripping it. They'll know what it is. It looks like a metal square attached to a broomstick-handle. Get a water-squirting bottle, spray the popcorn and let it soak a bit. Then scrap it off. I've even used a wide putty knive to remove the finish.
I would try sanding the patches and the paint first. Be prepared to add more plaster or mud to the patches though, cause chances are it'll probably need some filling. If the paint won't thin down to a nice smooth are thatt can be repainted, try a heavier grade sandpaper. Be careful though, some of the heavier ones can remove material quickly.
Good luck

How can I remove smears and drips of enamel paint from a vinyl floor?
It's old paint. I have a bad back so I can't get down and scrub too much. Goo Gone didn't help. Can I put something on it to soak it loose? It is waterbased paint - nothing oilbased. Thanks. How can I remove smears and drips of enamel paint from a vinyl floor?

When you spray paint metal and some paint clumping/dripping occurs...?
how do you get rid off those drip marks so that I can prime and recoat those areas again? When you spray paint metal and some paint clumping/dripping occurs...?
Time to get the sandpaper out. You are probably too close to the object being painted or you are applying too much paint at a time. Using two or three light coats will give you a better finish and dry quicker. Hold the spray can about 12'; away from the object you are painting and keep the can moving. If you stop moving, the paint will be thicker there and tend to run. When you spray paint metal and some paint clumping/dripping occurs...?
20 grit sandpaper, then re prime.
Sand paper.
First off, you did NOT clean the surface you were about to paint of grease and oil. You needed to make it tabletop clean. Secondly, you are putting the paint on too heavy. I am assuming it is a vertical surface(like a wall) - not horizontal(like a floor).
You HAVE to let it dry. then sand smooth.....then put on a lighter coat - let it dry a while - then another light coat - let it dry awhile and that covers the primer.
The finish coat happens the next day if it is enamel (and not laquer) Then lightly sand with fine sandpaper and blow clean. Then light coats of finish paint....fogging on a coat and wait(and fog some on a nearby surface that won't matter if you touch it) after 5 minutes or so touch your testing spot. Is it sticky or is it wet - no stickyness?? wait till it is sticky or even drier....then put on another fog coat....and wait........and repeat again. No need to sand between these coats as the paint sovents will melt into the last fresh coat and hold it together. Your final finish coat will be the heaviest coat(the heaviest fog, so give extra time for the second fog to get really sticky.
Blanket the third coat on over the whole surface evenly and walk away. Any misses will have to be fixed after everything has dried a day or two.
That is how they paint cars.

Old Paint drips and splashes on red brick?
Over the years my red clay brick house has had the odd drip splashed on the brick sills - is there any way I can remove without ruining the red bricks which are hard to buy now? I have tried steel wool, turps, meths but to no avail.Old Paint drips and splashes on red brick?
I know you are talking a bout sills but about 7 years ago I bought a brick and stucco house and there were more than a few drips of paint on the rough faced bricks-I simply mixed a bit of paint to match the brick and politely touched them up-ya cant notice any now,7 years later-just a thought......
Now,BIX is a trade name for a paint remover that might work for you on horizontal, stone surfaces but chances are you will have to sand some of it off -it will be discolored for a while but it will ';weather';back to what it looks likeOld Paint drips and splashes on red brick?
Use a paint Stripper. Zip Strip is a common brand name. CitriStrip is a citrus based more ';eco friendly'; brand.
Either way apply an let sit for as long as the label recommends - DON';T rush it. It takes time to work.
Scrape the gooey paint yp with a putty knife and wire brush. Follow with soap and water and a stiff brush to remove the stripper residue.
If the paint didn't all come up the first time let dry thoroughly and repeat the whole process from the beginning. It may take a few attempts and a little elbow grease but the results will be worth it.

What is the best way to remove paint that I dripped onto concrete?
I'm gonna guess it's a water based paint ? Go to any paint or hardware store and buy a quart of deglosser or another name for it is liquid sandpaper pour a little on the paint and wait a couple minutes and then with a wire brush gently brush it should dissolve it enough to be washed away with a garden hose, may take a couple times and remember easy you don't want the wire brush look on your concrete either. good luck Les the painterWhat is the best way to remove paint that I dripped onto concrete?
if you let it tack dry, you can usually get a scraper and pick it off (most anyway). What is the best way to remove paint that I dripped onto concrete?
if is is a outside or a garage floor the best way is a power washer. If it is confinded or inside a paint scraper and some paint stripper will work.
rent a high pressure washer. it will come right up.
high pressure steam would be ideal
this is a little out there, but have you tried nail polish remover? It gets off A LOT of things.
paint thinner, lighter fluid,gasoline........

I've been painting my window and door frames wth non-drip gloss white paint. Should I have use satin instead
I've been painting window and door frames with non-drip gloss but am now left thinking I should've used satin instead as it seems too glossy. Paint isn't cheap and am now hesitant to paint the doors with same tin.I've been painting my window and door frames wth non-drip gloss white paint. Should I have use satin instead
It's all personal taste, but traditionally, walls are painted in a matte finish (except kitchens and bathrooms which need a satin or gloss finish to be washable) and doors, door/window trim, base boards and crown molding are painted in a gloss. This way there is contrast from the walls, giving the room more visual interest. It also makes doors washable as they are ';high traffic'; areas. (Grubby paw prints from the kiddies and pets!!)
If your house is old, I would stick with the traditional style so that your finishes are in keeping with the architecture of your house. If your house is new, anything goes.
Maybe if you are unsure about the doors, you should put the job on hold for a few days and live with the trim to see if it grows on you.
I personally LOVE glossy doors and trim, and totally disagree with the statement above that they ';deaden'; the room.
Good Luck! I'm about to repaint my whole house, so I feel your
pain(t) !!!I've been painting my window and door frames wth non-drip gloss white paint. Should I have use satin instead
Satin or flat would have been better. Glossy is too shiny for my taste.
Do you think the weather will change if it stays like this?
There is no rule which says you must paint woodwork white, or strip it, or color it to merge with the walls. In a room whose walls, window frames and doors are in the same neutral color, you could paint the skirting board a clear contrasting color.
This will define the line between the floor and walls. Trim colors that contrast with walls and ceilings might suit your style in one room, while a more subtle color change might be right somewhere else in the house.
You can liven up plain, flat walls by adding moldings so as to create panels around the room. For best results, make sure you keep your working area within the proper temperature range recommended for the paint.
All interior woodwork that has been stripped, from baseboard to dining room tables, needs to be primed with either a standard acrylic wood primer. After that you can paint on it with oil-based flat eggshell, gloss, or acrylic paints.
Most interior woodwork looks best in an eggshell finish, as high-gloss paint can have a rather bleak, deadening effect. If your plan is to paint walls, ceiling, and trim, then it鈥檚 best to get the trim painted first, along with the room鈥檚 windows and doors. Paint woodwork in small sections. Keeping a wet edge to avoid lap marks.
A wide range of broken-color effects work well on woodwork, but ideally you should use oil-based paints as latex has little durability on wood. Stains add color to wood while allowing its natural grain pattern to show through.
Varnishes are clear finishes that form a tough coating over stain. They are available in a range of finish sheens from satin to high gloss. At the end of a project, combine all of the leftover paint of the same color into as few cans as possible.
Once it dries, it won't look quite so shiny and glossy. I think you used the right type.
Well, author Roger King has either been living in a cave or that was written a long time ago. Gloss paint on trim and doors is coming back into fashion and is much easier to wash down when need arises. Water based latex paints are very durable on wood surfaces as long as you prime first. I have always thought that gloss paint adds a little dimension to a look. Go to HGTV and see what they are showing (that's where I saw the new trend for high gloss on doors and trim). But it basically comes down to personal preference and it's important that you enjoy your own home.
get some eggshell finish easy to apply looks great .trust me I'm a decorator
I PAINTED ALL MY WOOD TRIM, FRAMES, DOORS AND WALLS IN FLAT LATEX THE SAME COLOR IN THE ENTIRE HOUSE AND IT LOOKS GREAT. I WANTED THE ACCESSORIES AND FURNITURE TO HAVE CENTER STAGE NOT THE PAINT. I LOVE THE WAY MY PAINT TURNED OUT BUT I SEE NO REASON WHY YOUR GLOSS WOULDN'T BE EVERY BIT AS NICE. SOMEHOW I DON'T THINK ANYTHING IS GOING TO LOOK DEAD. I DO THINK THAT IF YOU DECIDE TO CHANGE THE GLOSS TO FLAT OR SATIN YOU SHOULD CONSIDER PAINTING THE DOORS AND WINDOWS THE SAME. IT'S JUST MY OPINION BUT I DON'T THINK GLOSS ON ONE AND FLAT ON THE OTHER WOULD LOOK TOO GOOD. I TOO AM ABOUT TO START PAINTING AND DON'T ENVY YOU! GOOD LUCK!
it doesnt matter what you used...use it and if you didn't like the results then just change it...it doesn't take much time or effort...just be stress free and happy

How do i stencil graffiti without the paint dripping behind the card and ruining it?
Do i use thicker card, or better paint, or is there a specific method? How do i stencil graffiti without the paint dripping behind the card and ruining it?
It depends on if you're doing it vertically, with good quality paint, etc. etc. Use thick cardboard if you're making your own, also. the best thing I can suggest is to take the can farther back and let less paint get to the actual surface. continue until it has a thicker coating. How do i stencil graffiti without the paint dripping behind the card and ruining it?
Use a thick, wide card, with lots of space around your stencil. Stand back from the stencil. The closer you spray, the more dripping you would get. Once you remove the card, you will see your image, so you do not need an extremely thick layer of paint.
there is a specific method
Graffiti costs me and every other tax payer money. DON'T DO IT!! IT IS ANTI SOCIAL!!!!

What do you use to remove paint drips from hardwood Floors?
They have the laquer or gloss on them. I could remove the drips from just scraping them but I dont want to make scratches on the wood. I have removed drips before when we moved in our house years ago but I can remember what we did it with. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks. What do you use to remove paint drips from hardwood Floors?
White spirit or turps, Apply with soft cloth, then wash with a little dish soap liquid , rinse and dryWhat do you use to remove paint drips from hardwood Floors?
If you have hardwood floors using anything harsh would harm the finish.. If its a latex kind of paint.. you can usually just use your nail and gently lift it off... but if there is lots it can take forever..
My advice would be to call a floor manufacturer in your area and ask ... they might be able to help you with some kind of product that will not harm your flooring underneath..

What is a good brand of interior paint for a kitchen and general living area that doesn't drip too much?
I really need to paint kitchen and the interior of my house but I don't want a drippy mess. What is a good brand of interior paint for a kitchen and general living area that doesn't drip too much?
Behr has an excellent quality paint for interior use. You can get it at Home Depot. Doesn't run, goes on smooth. It's the only brand that I use now for interior painting. What is a good brand of interior paint for a kitchen and general living area that doesn't drip too much?
any of your standard latex brands sold by home depot-lowes ect.
I painted my entire apartment two years ago with Benjamin Moore and love it. It was easy to use, and has not peeled or chipped at all. I also have hung up a lot of paintings and putting nails has not been a problem with chipping either. Definitely a quality paint. Most of my apt has the eggshell finish. In my kitchen I used an eggshell on the walls and a semi-gloss on the cabinets so they are easy to wipe down. I also painted the inside of my cabinets with a really pretty sky blue ( I have no windows in the kitchen) and it gives the illusion of windows when I open them...they look great! Just an unsolicited painting suggestion...good luck!
i recently painted my kitchen. I did not want to strip wallpaper so I took a chance with Kilz paint. It took two coats and covered perfectly. I am sold on this product.
Hi, Behr is a good one, sold at the Home Depot. Make sure you use either gloss, or simi gloss for a kitchen. Also make sure they shake it good in the paint shaker, and give you stir sticks so you can stir it before you use it. Glidden is another good brand,if they still make the ultra series, than use that. Have Fun
My favorite is Pittsburgh Paint. Goes on smooth and covers usually in one coat. Doesn't drip. Leaves a beautiful finish, that's washable too. They make several different finishes. So you'll have no problem selecting ones suitable for both areas.
This is the only paint I've ever used that actually made painting enjoyable.
I like Sherwin Williams best! Second choice would be Glidden ( home depot) much preferred over Behr.

Never heard of that either. Is it in reference to going to slow or too fast maybe? More hints please.
It means you have a Candy paint job on your ride. Swishahouse was one of the first groups to use that terminology.

Why does my non-drip paint drip?
Can I sue them? Why does my non-drip paint drip?
LMFAO no u cant sue them !!
u could ask for a refund on the product if you can prove that the non-drip paint does infact drip !!
but you do not have a case to sue them !! lolWhy does my non-drip paint drip?
no... maybe you have too much in your brush / roller !!
either old paint, paint that has been frosted, painting on an already painted surface that has not been sanded, or as others have said to much paint on brush..golden rule for all painting 'little and often'
No you cannot sue the manufacturers...Firstly you have probably put too much on .
Secondly you have not spread it far enough
And finally you have praobably stirred it , it says on all non-drip tins DO NOT STIR,this is printed for a reason, which is, if you stir it , it becomes Liquid Gloss...And will drip as you take it from the can to the surface you are attempting to paint...
Next time follow the instructions they are there for your own good...
ha ha ha!
it must not be the right consistancy, i would write a letter to the company complaining, they might give you your money bck or give you some free paint
trevor trevor trevor,
it drips because youve not worked it in properly or youve stirred the paint but the thing that gets me is you want to sue them?, maybe in america but nowhere else! NOW GET A GRIP!
Drip less paint drips ...easy to assemble is not easy and new and improved is usually neither...It is just a marketing ploy
All paint drips. Just apply it thinner. Don't put so much on your brush.
does it drip off the wall of in the can?
lol....
did you stir it? there may be blobs that will fall from the roller or brush but that doesnt mean it drips... lol
Bless! No.
It drips because you stirred it....the idea is that you dip in the brush and apply it thinly.
non drip paint is designed not to drip off your brush when you are loading you brush.
If you mean it is dripping or sagging on the wood work you are applying it to then sorry there is no paint made that will not do that.
Painting is easy if you take your time and spread the paint patientely but if you hurry wou will end up with a real mess.
so many people think painting is easy it is not .
Take your time and do not rush follow the instructions on the tin.
Good luck
Non-drip gloss is more solid than liquid gloss. If you do not overload the brush it should not drip. If you do not apply too thickly it should not run either, but it will if you overdo it.
1) it is wet all paints drip when they are wet!
2) if ya sue them u may not win the battle
Follow the instructions on the tin
You are overloading your brush and not brushing the paint out evenly on the surface you are painting
because you are rubbish at painting perhaps? haha. it is non drip at a certain consistency so mix your paint properly and it will work.c++

you have to put some kind of lubricate on it before tagging
Try asking the owner of the building or a local police officer to hold a tarp under your art while you are creating it.
stop tagging @sshole.... People work hard to keep theyre property nice and neat and then you losers go and screw it up in a couple of seconds with your mediocre work.
you have to practice and spray lightly and then do layers
did not look at your photo never do links of any kind since it once gave me a wicked viruse
stop tagging, you obviously suck.

move a lil further away and spray faster
tencil i guess

stand back further and dont use as much on a certain section

How do i remove an emulsion paint drip from my cotten satin curtain?
It should come out if you rinse in cold water
How do you get spray paint to not drip?
When ever I use spray paint it always runs and the colours mix. Do you have any ideas how I can stop this or prevent because its ruining my art =(How do you get spray paint to not drip?
Do not spray too close. That should prevent the dripping. To prevent the blending, wait until the first layer dries before you add the second layer of paint. How do you get spray paint to not drip?
I am not expert in painting but used it.
I found it not to over do it.
No matter what it will go on carpet or floor so spread a sheet plastic or paper on the floor.
If it is a piece of furniture take it in the back yard.
Spray from a distance.
Good Luck

How do you thin oil paint enough to drip without losing the color?
I want to put drips in a painting I'm working on but I don't know how to make the paint thin enough. Mineral spirits alone takes away the color too much. Any ideas? How do you thin oil paint enough to drip without losing the color?
Linseed oil is one good medium to use, but there are many others. Walnut oil, sun-thickened oils, resins and combinations of all of them are all good painting mediums, but there is a lot of discussion about some ingredients darken over the years especially resins. My favorite is a combination of walnut oil, spike oil and balsam. There are may good books out there on the subject. If you email me I can send you a list. If you do choose to simply use linseed oil remember that some paints, meaning the pigments they are made up of, are more transparent than others and will dilute in color more than others. It may say on your tube the opacity of that color. I can't find a good list now, but search online. I do know that the cadmiums and most cobalts are opaque. All lakes and many earths are transparent or semi-transparent. The more opaque your color, the more you can thin it out, but be careful you have to keep the integrity of the film that gets set up by the drying oil (Linseed oil that the paint is made out of) You really don't need to thin the paint down too much to get to drip. Try picking the canvas up and shaking it some to get the thicker paint to move. You can take out some frustration out on the painting while you are at it! Have fun.How do you thin oil paint enough to drip without losing the color?
The trick to retaining colour in a wash is to use a good professional grade oil paint. Inexpensive paints have more binder and less pigment, and it shows when diluting them.
Also, try using a mixture of linseed and spirits instead of plain spirits, the paint will retain its glow and you'll have more control over the drips.
use linseedoil;cobalt drier %26amp; paint thinner or preferably turps to thin to translucent, almost watercolor like conitncy....this is (thin paint) for by itself or underpainting....fat over lean is a good ';rule';...ive seen over-thinned paints crack in less that 5 years.
my stuff is on youtube....mark partington
also flickr
I use mineral spirit to clean paint from my brushes, but linseed oil to paint with. It's easy to modify the amount to keep it opaque but more...spreadable.
DON';T use mineral spirits or turps! Try liuquol or liquin.
What about an oil bar and thin it out ? I haven't seen them in an art store in years, but you might try Dick Blick.

Which paint roller should I buy to paint plain smooth walls? Will roller paint drip? Is paint runner any good?
A medium pile 9 inch roller. Not a real cheap one. Wash it out thoroughly before use to get rid of loose fibres. Paint will spray. The thinner the paint and the faster you work it the more it will spray. Mask up. Invest in a roller pole.Which paint roller should I buy to paint plain smooth walls? Will roller paint drip? Is paint runner any good?
Spend some extra $ on your tools. Roller covers and brushes of better quality make a easier and better looking job , taking less time also. I use the trol products that are paint additives that lessen brush/roller marks and also thins it and makes it much easier to work with. I can use a $30 3'; brush to do everything from windows panes to trim, it just is so much easier to work with. I am not a painter just a handyman. The guys at the paint store(real paint contractors) told me about the brushes and additives. Yes to runner and use quality paint

Is there a way to get a drip of paint off an acrylic painting?
I am working on an acrylic painting and I got a drip of color (black of course) that ran down the canvas. The section it dripped on is a much lighter color. Now that area looks terrible. Is there a way to clean the paint off while keeping the lighter color in tact, or would it be better to repaint the area where the drip is?Is there a way to get a drip of paint off an acrylic painting?
It would be better to wait until that area dries, and then to repaint it. I have had that happen before with the ornaments that i paint, and just wait for the area to dry, and then I repaint them.Is there a way to get a drip of paint off an acrylic painting?
It is difficult to say without seeing it, and in person even better. Determining the best way depends on the painting. There would probably be some residue left if you could remove it. Sometimes you can peel the paint right off if it was dripped onto a smooth area. Being black you will have some trouble covering it. Even what is labeled opaque is more transparent than will usually cover black. It might take more than one careful application of paint to cover this up.

Getting dripping paint appearance on a painting?
For my draw and paint class, I am painting a portfolio that requires acrylic paint as it's main medium. Other mediums could be incorporated into the final piece.
The question I'm asking is, is there a technique to get a dripping paint effect? On the piece I'm painting, there are ice cream cones that are upside down and dripping. What would one suggest to get a full real effect of it looking like it was melting?Getting dripping paint appearance on a painting?
Load your brush heavily and let it drip where you want the drips. It will take a lot of control. Afterwards, add some highlights or shadows.Getting dripping paint appearance on a painting?
The way you shade would be key, the best way anyone can learn to create an effect that is in motion is to observe a model of it. Go get some Ice cream and watch it melt, shape is also very important, but to really show the drip you'll need to be able to show the depth really well. There isn't much for painting technique tutorials on the net, you might be able to find some for digital imaging, that might help, just seeing it in 2 dimensions...
get a cone and take several pictures of it and pick the one you like print it off and paint it that's the way i do it

I have used Oven Cleaner. Spray it on...let it sit for a while....then use high pressure on the hose to wash it away. If needed...spray some on and use a steel wire brush to work the area....then rinse it off.How do I get paint splatters and drips off of concrete?
I would use a pressure washer the problem with it being on cement, is that its very pourus and hard to scrub or scrap, A pressure washer should help get in the nicks of the concrete , you could also try a wire type brisstle brush.GL
I would go to hardware or home improvement store and ask for Goof Off. It safely removes dried paint from most surfaces as long as there's not paint below it.
Then again, on concrete, paint thinner might work too.
best thing i've found is muratic acid. and all that does is lighten it up, with a lot of scrubbing. concrete is so pourous, it just soaks in. the acid etches the concrete.
Pressure washer. Period.

Don't know about best but , having had a few ';accidents';
w/ latex paint I keep some ';Goof Off'; around.
Works well on fresh spots %26amp; the ones I missed came up by keeping the spots moist %26amp; covered with the stuff
Seemed to make the paint loose its grip %26amp; comes up w/ a little picking at it..
Thing is not to make a lot of mud %26amp; spread it around.
how about the best thing to beat the crap out of the one who dripped it

Electric sander - are they good to use on drywall to remove lot of paint drip lines and pour paint jobs?
The last guy in my house was the worst painter ever. Some paint drip lines go from ceiling to floor and they are all over the place. Sanding them by hand is hard work. Do you recommend using an electric sander? I also have ares where the ';Tape'; is showing through and I'm thinking I can just razor blade the tape lines out and mud over where the seams, I'm descent with mud. Or should I re-tape? What should I be worried about and watching for? Electric sander - are they good to use on drywall to remove lot of paint drip lines and pour paint jobs?
An electric sander is good on paint, but not the paperbacking on unskimmed plasterboard. I'd weigh up putting on a skim plastercoat.c++

Why does my interior paint form drips once paint is applied?
I am having difficulty painting the interior walls as a result of this. I have painted in a previous home with no problem, walls were dry wall. Home is 40 years old, walls are clean. Why does my interior paint form drips once paint is applied?
I would think either the paint is being applied too thick, or you have too much humidity in your home. If you are using a roller to apply the paint, the nap might be too thick, putting too much paint on the walls, which will cause drips. Try using a roller with a lower pile nap. Usually the package will tell you what surfaces are best for that roller.
If you are using the correct roller, but are still getting drips, you might need to remove some of the paint from the roller before applying to the walls. the paint tray has a ';well'; for paint, the ridges on the sloping part are for rolling the roller across to remove excess paint. Or you can use a ';screen'; to roll it across first to remove the extra paint.
I don't know all the technical terms for this, but have painted tons of different surfaces in many different houses.
The most common cause of drips is just too much paint being applied. Why does my interior paint form drips once paint is applied?
Using oil paint? The nap of roller is to thick!
