Old Paint drips and splashes on red brick?

Over the years my red clay brick house has had the odd drip splashed on the brick sills - is there any way I can remove without ruining the red bricks which are hard to buy now? I have tried steel wool, turps, meths but to no avail.Old Paint drips and splashes on red brick?
I know you are talking a bout sills but about 7 years ago I bought a brick and stucco house and there were more than a few drips of paint on the rough faced bricks-I simply mixed a bit of paint to match the brick and politely touched them up-ya cant notice any now,7 years later-just a thought......

Now,BIX is a trade name for a paint remover that might work for you on horizontal, stone surfaces but chances are you will have to sand some of it off -it will be discolored for a while but it will ';weather';back to what it looks likeOld Paint drips and splashes on red brick?
Use a paint Stripper. Zip Strip is a common brand name. CitriStrip is a citrus based more ';eco friendly'; brand.

Either way apply an let sit for as long as the label recommends - DON';T rush it. It takes time to work.

Scrape the gooey paint yp with a putty knife and wire brush. Follow with soap and water and a stiff brush to remove the stripper residue.

If the paint didn't all come up the first time let dry thoroughly and repeat the whole process from the beginning. It may take a few attempts and a little elbow grease but the results will be worth it.
Acitone or mineral spirits
