It depends on if you're doing it vertically, with good quality paint, etc. etc. Use thick cardboard if you're making your own, also. the best thing I can suggest is to take the can farther back and let less paint get to the actual surface. continue until it has a thicker coating.How do i stencil graffiti without the paint dripping behind the card and ruining it?
Use a thick, wide card, with lots of space around your stencil. Stand back from the stencil. The closer you spray, the more dripping you would get. Once you remove the card, you will see your image, so you do not need an extremely thick layer of paint.
